Back to course
Pdf Summary
Researchers from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine have developed and validated a decision aid tool for the treatment of ankle arthritis. The tool aims to help patients make informed decisions about their treatment options. The study involved 80 participants from two foot and ankle practices who completed a survey before and after using the decision aid. The results showed an increase in knowledge scores after reviewing the decision aid, indicating that it effectively improved patient knowledge about treatment options. The participants also reported low levels of decisional conflict and rated the decision aid as helpful. The tool was found to contain quality information, and the positive evaluations from the participants support its validity. The researchers plan to further develop the decision aid by creating an interactive digital format. Overall, the study highlights the importance of decision aids in improving patient satisfaction and decision-making for ankle arthritis treatment.
