Pdf Summary
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is implementing the COVID-19 Telehealth Program, which aims to provide relief during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program has a total funding of $200 million, with a maximum of $1 million per applicant. Eligible healthcare providers may apply for funding, and those who have already received support may request additional funding.

The FCC's Wireline Bureau, in consultation with the Connect2Health Task Force, will review the applications after obtaining approval from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Interested participants can apply for the COVID-19 Telehealth Program and the Connected Care Pilot, but they cannot request funding for the same services simultaneously.

The program has specific criteria for targeting areas that have been heavily affected by COVID-19, such as areas with low-income populations, healthcare provider shortages, rural hospital closures, and limited broadband/internet access. It is not limited to treating COVID-19 but can also be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the disease. The program will cover end-user devices and connected care services, which include remote patient monitoring, patient health education, store and forward services, and video consultations.

Applicants must provide proof of eligibility as a healthcare provider, along with details about their application, including contact information, description of services, estimated number of patients to be treated, requested funding for telecommunications services or devices, supporting documentation for costs, deployment timeline, and a certification of compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Applications should be submitted through the FCC's ECFS under WC Docket No. 20-89, titled COVID-19 Telehealth Program Application for Funding. Funding will be awarded on a rolling basis until the allocated funds are exhausted.
