The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) is hosting a webinar titled "Foot & Ankle Focus: Biologic Enhancements for Fusion in Foot and Ankle Surgery" on June 30, 2021. The webinar aims to explore the role of orthobiologics in enhancing bone fusion and identifying patients who may benefit from this treatment. The webinar is free for AOFAS members and orthopedic residents/fellows, and is supported by grants from Arthrex Inc. and Stryker.<br /><br />The course is designed for experienced foot and ankle surgeons, generalist orthopedic surgeons interested in expanding their practice into foot and ankle, post-residency fellows and residents, and allied health professionals working in foot and ankle care.<br /><br />The webinar faculty includes Samuel B. Adams, MD, Selene G. Parekh, MD, MBA, H. Thomas Temple, MD, Sheldon S. Lin, MD, and Daniel Guss, MD, MBA. The faculty members have extensive experience and expertise in foot and ankle surgery, and will share insights on the different orthobiologics available, patient selection criteria, and the efficacy of biologics for bone fusion.<br /><br />Upon completion of the webinar, participants will have a better understanding of the classes and mechanism of action of orthobiologics, be able to identify patients who may benefit from biologic enhancement for bone fusion, and understand the existing data and efficacy behind biologics.<br /><br />The AOFAS ensures that the development of this educational activity was independent and not influenced by commercial supporters. The organization is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide CME credits for physicians. Participants can claim a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for their participation.<br /><br />Disclosure of conflict of interest is mandatory for all instructors, planners, and individuals in a position to influence the content of the educational activity.
