The Remedy is a diverse collection of real-life stories from queer and trans people on their own healthcare experiences and challenges. The book also includes essays by healthcare providers, activists, and leaders about the challenges, politics, and opportunities surrounding LGBTQ+ health issues.
Moderators and participants discuss the discrimination and challenges the LGBTQ+ community faces in the healthcare system as well as ways to make orthopaedic surgery more inclusive for patients.
Learning Objectives:
Understand the unique challenges and discrimination that the LGBTQ+ community faces in the healthcare system
Identify some of our own biases when treating these patients
Consider changes that we can make as healthcare providers to provide more inclusive care for the LGBTQ+ community
