AOFAS Mission Statement

The mission of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society is to improve lives through exceptional orthopaedic foot and ankle care.

Target Audience

This course is designed for the experienced foot and ankle surgeon, the generalist orthopaedic surgeon interested in expanding their scope of practice into foot and ankle, post-residency fellows and residents who treat acute and chronic problems of the foot and ankle, and allied health professionals who work in foot and ankle care.

Description

Part of the International Federation of Foot & Ankle Societies Webinar Series, this webinar will focus on current trends in hallux valgus correction with an emphasis on metatarsal rotation correction and minimally invasive surgery. Faculty will share their extensive experience, tips and tricks, and contributions to developing today's most advanced techniques. In addition, Dr. Coughlin will provide a historical perspective and his evolution of bunion correction, while Dr. Saltzman will offer his insight into hallux valgus biomechanics and pathology.

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this webinar, you will be able to:

• Optimize minimally invasive surgical techniques in hallux valgus correction
• Understand the influence of metatarsal rotation on hallux valgus deformity and how to effectively correct it
