Upon completion of this course, learners should be able to:
Examine the anatomy of the syndesmosis and associated ankle structures that may be implicated in external rotational injuries of the ankle
Explain the pathomechanics of how a high ankle sprain and syndesmotic ankle injury occur and the resultant variants of injury patterns
Understand and appreciate the imaging studies available to recognize the severity of the syndesmotic injury and its potential treatment algorithm
Appreciate the treatment options for the high ankle sprain
