Overview
Putting It Into Practice: The Basics Applied is a series of virtual courses providing the basics of foot and ankle clinical care.
In this second course, multidisciplinary faculty will discuss the evaluation and management of deformity correction. Topics include Cavus Deformity, Flatfoot Deformity, PT Evaluation and Treatment of Deformity, and Orthotics Basics. This course is ideal for all Advanced Practice Providers, including physical therapists, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, athletic trainers, orthopaedic residents, and primary care physicians.
This course is presented in collaboration with the Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (AOPT) Foot and Ankle Special Interest Group (FASIG).
Upon completion of this course, learners should be able to:
Describe the evaluation, treatment, and outcomes of cavus deformity
Describe the evaluation, treatment, and outcomes of flatfoot deformity
Understand the basics of evaluating patients with deformity
Understand the basics of orthotics for use in deformity correction
Accreditation
The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The AOFAS designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Certified Athletic Trainers. This program is eligible for a maximum of 1.5 hours/CEUs. Athletic Trainers should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.
