Nonoperative treatment is a key first step in addressing flatfoot deformity. In these cases, communication between surgeons and health practitioners is important to provide the best possible patient care. Presented in partnership with the Foot and Ankle Special Interest Group of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA FASIG), this live webinar will examine nonsurgical treatment options for flatfoot as well as how foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeons and health practitioners can collaborate effectively to care for these patients.

 

Target Audience

This course is designed for the experienced foot and ankle surgeon, the generalist orthopaedic surgeon interested in expanding their scope of practice into foot and ankle, post-residency fellows and residents who treat acute and chronic problems of the foot and ankle, and allied health professionals who work in foot and ankle care.

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this webinar, you will be able to:

  • Discuss the biomechanics of the hindfoot and midfoot in flatfoot
  • Analyze the bracing options for posterior tibialis tendon dysfunction (PTTD)
  • Utilize intrinsic foot strengthening for the treatment of PTTD
