All right, good morning everybody. On behalf of Dr. Hogan, I want to welcome everybody to the AOFAS 2022 pre-meeting course. Thank you for coming out, and I want to thank Dr. DiGiovanni for inviting us to be pre-meeting course chairs. I want to thank Dr. Humberg and Dr. Gus for collaborating with us. As you all know, a lot of effort goes into this, so I also want to thank all of our speakers. I want to extend a particular thanks to the BOFAS members who have joined us from across the pond. Thank you for coming out and helping us make what I believe will be an outstanding program. When Mac and I conceptualized this, the idea we came up with was to really take a look at how arthroscopy is used in the foot and ankle practice. It was important for us to get the perspective of our BOFAS colleagues because, as you'll see, they take a little bit different approach in some areas, and I thought we would have a chance to learn from them. So I want to say thanks to that group. We're also going to try something today. I'm hopeful that it works. We are going to do an audience polling system. So at the end of each symposium, there will be an audience poll question, just one after each symposium. And we're going to start with one right now, actually, I hope. Otherwise, the system didn't work and we'll scrap it. The idea here is just to ask some basic questions about how you use arthroscopy in your practice. If we can get enough interest, all the results are going to show up on the screen so you'll see them. We're going to record them and we'll make them available on the OFS website so that you can see how people responded to these questions. So we're going to try this now. It does require a little bit of effort. So there's two ways to respond to this. One, you can send a text message to the code 22333, and you just put in the text body AOFAS Education 250, and that will activate your mobile phone or iPad. And then each time a question comes up, you just click the letter that corresponds to your answer. The other way to do it is to download the AOFAS app. It's in the app store on all cell phones. And right in the top of the beginning of the app, when you open it, you'll see audience polling question. You can click there and answer it there. It doesn't matter. Either way, we'll get the response and it'll be recorded. It is completely anonymous, so there will be zero ties to anything about you or your location. So we'll start with this one. So this is now live. So try one of those two methods to respond to the question. The question is, how much do you currently use arthroscopy in your practice? And then we're going to see at the end whether practices are changed by what you hear today. So with that, Mac, what do you think? Should we get started? I love it, Ken. So we're very excited about this lineup we put together on our Hope vs. Hype conversation. And we're going to start with our first symposium, Arthroscopy and Ankle Ligament Repair, with our moderators, Peter DeHoog as well as Dr. Mark Glazebrook.
Video Summary
This video is the introduction to the AOFAS 2022 pre-meeting course. The speaker thanks Dr. DiGiovanni for inviting them to be pre-meeting course chairs and collaborates with Dr. Humberg and Dr. Gus. They express gratitude to all the speakers and extend a special thanks to the BOFAS members. The goal of the course is to explore how arthroscopy is used in foot and ankle practice, and the speaker hopes to learn from the BOFAS colleagues' different approach. They also introduce an audience polling system to gather participants' perspectives on arthroscopy usage. The video then transitions to the first symposium, "Arthroscopy and Ankle Ligament Repair," moderated by Peter DeHoog and Dr. Mark Glazebrook. No other credits are provided in the transcript.
