Bundle Overview
This bundle showcases a series of discussions addressing books and journal articles on healthcare inequities along with diversity and inclusion issues for the profession. Discussions took place between March 2022 - September 2023.
AOFAS On The Same Page is part of the AOFAS Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) initiative, which was established in 2021 to:

conduct an assessment of the current AOFAS environment
-
identify ways to address DEI issues in the workplace and in patient care
-
work toward increased representation of under-represented minorities (URM) in foot and ankle orthopaedics as a profession as well as in AOFAS leadership roles.
The DEI Committee reports directly to the AOFAS Board of Directors with representation from the Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Foundation Board of Directors.

Description
This discussion centers on Advocacy for Women in Orthopaedic Surgery. Topics include recent research examining the challenges faced by female orthopaedic surgeons in the workplace as well as practical strategies for advocating for women in orthopaedics. We will conclude with a discussion panel featuring the Boden family of orthopaedic surgeons.

The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education (CME) for physicians. AOFAS designates this enduring material activity for a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Participants are required to submit a completed evaluation form at the end of the course in order to receive CME credit.
